I have never heard of these traditional Japanese wrapping cloths before. They are old news to the Japanese of course – the basic idea has been with them since about AD 710! However, in recent years there has been a resurgence in use, with more modern versions popping up in the marketplace. Lucinda Newton-Dunn has some stunners for sale. I’ll take the red!
